The Night Safari of Singapore was officially opened on 26 May 1994 by then Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Goh Chok Tong. The Night Safari occupies a total land area of 40 hectares in the northern part of Singapore. Built at a cost of $63 million, the safari park is divided into eight geographical zones, which can be explored either on foot via three walking trails, or by tram. There is a total of 130 animal species to be found here, of which 30% are threatened species. An amazing 1,000,000 visitors come to the Singapore's Night Safari every year.
